A researchers' meeting was held at the University of Tokyo, bringing together private businesses, experts in related fields, and students.

On July 5, at the 12th Annual Conference of the Pacific Islands Studies Association, Research Director Kayane delivered the opening remarks as Executive Committee Chair, and Research Fellow Hiroya Abe moderated and summarized the discussion on development　

Naya Sena attended the Climate Change Education Summit 2025 held at the University of the Marshall Islands (CMI), where she delivered a keynote speech and participated in a panel discussion.　

PI Kayane and Researcher Nonaka conducted a field survey of islands north of Majuro.　

The first overall workshop on adaptation measures was held with stakeholders in Majuro.　

We exchanged views with government and international organizations on climate change in Majuro.　

In Majuro, PI Kayane and Naya Sena, along with Ambassador Soma of Japan, paid a courtesy visit to Minister Lakjong, Special Advisor to the President and Minister of Environment.　

A seminar on NbS was held at the Okinotorishima Small Island States Program.

An advisory board meeting was held to discuss the results of activities in FY2024, with ERCA project officers and external advisory committee members.　

Naya Sena participated in a workshop held at CMI focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science (UNDOS), where she provided individual instruction during the session.　

Researcher Abe surveyed the distribution of reef-building corals on Majuro Atoll.　

Continuous wave height and water quality monitoring equipment was recovered in Majuro for subsequent data analysis.　

PI Kayane and others presented the research project online to the ADB Tokyo representative.　

Researcher Abe installed equipment to measure current direction, current velocity, water temperature, salinity, etc. on Majuro Atoll and began continuous observations until February. In addition, he monitored water quality using a multi-parameter water qu　

Researcher Shimozono installed a wave height meter and a solar-powered camera for wave observation on the east coast of Majuro and continued to observe oceanographic conditions until February 2025.　

Naya Sena participated in a workshop held at the University of the Marshall Islands (CMI) on the impacts of climate change on coastal communities and potential solutions, where she spoke and participated in discussions.　

An information exchange meeting was held with researchers funded by the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Majuro and other Pacific small islands.

Abe, Yoshida (Atsushi), and Yoshida (Yu) observed the underwater environment, including coral reefs, at Majuro Atoll and Arno Atoll. (9/13)　

Eight members of the research team traveled to Majuro to conduct on-site inspections and introduce their research plans to RMI government agencies (EPA, MIMIRA, CCD) and international organizations, and exchange opinions.　

PI Kayane and others visited the Embassy of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in Tokyo and explained the research project to Ambassador Bing and other staff.　

The planning theory for NbS in Pacific Island Countries, developed as the basis of this research, was published in "Sustainable Development across the Pacific Islands" by Springer.
